Some will settle and accept what life hands them, no questions asked,
some will fuss and moan and complain about all the tough luck they have been dealt in life,
and still others will grab a hold of a vision and make the most of what life has to offer.
Some will even use very new age style methods to reach a higher

This may seem a bit crazy to some, but I just want to point to the extreme possibilities of our own human potential.
Read on to find a variety of other choices for your personal journey.
My name is Heidi Hockman, and I am a 41 year old visionary entrepreneur, who has gained my spirit from experience.
I started to go blind about 6 years ago, at which time I was told I had begun to develop the effects of diabetic retinopathy: A disease caused by the devastating effects of uncontrolled diabetes.
Regardless of my fault in the matter, I was faced with a terrible situation in which I needed to find a way to make a living. Social Security Disability, no matter how grateful I was to have it, was obviously not going to provide for a comfortable life.
Because the thought of getting back to work consumed me, the emotional devastation that I was ignoring simply got buried somewhere inside me.
It did not go away, however, and it grew to a place of self destruction and despair.
I, Luckily found myself in a program of support which helped me through most of this when the time came.
Let me share with you some of the resources I've used in my fantastic journey towards peace and happiness!
It is in my highest belief that one should, as quickly as possible, at any cost, deal with emotional issues that will inevitably occur when facing blindness. The loss of sight is like the loss of a very dear loved one, and the process of grief must take its course.
I believe, one of the most important tricks to acceptance of your blindness is this:
Be totally honest and begin to look at the truth as it really is, not just as it appears to be
I believe that a person can look at blindness as unfair or as a disability. Others may look at it as a blessing. It is also your choice to take one of the two and apply it into your life.
The only other choice is to struggle and/or make no choice. In which case you become simply powerless.
We all can take the guidance of the
small, persistent voice of the truth, not the one
yeling at us about what we should do because it
feels good or is easier. Not the one that
won't do the right thing
or the one that doesn't want to be religious or spiritual. This
has nothing to do with religion. It has to do
with common sense which is becoming
non-existent.
Sometimes our own human nature and selfishness will make us try and take the easy way out.
No one really wants to deal with what is wrong with our own selves.
I'm led into believing
that something speaks to us and tells us the truth.
A sixth sense, so to speak.
I don't know anything for sure, but feel
that it's too often to be a coincidence that that little voice saved my tail.
I am here today because you or a loved one may have a need to adjust to a life of blindness or vision loss.
No matter what your eye disorder or circumstance which you are in during this crisis,
you are most likely in a position of needing to find information to help you to learn how to cope.
Well, my friend, one of the things we do here at everything Blind, is to help individuals like you find any and all information available to ease you in your blindness. One of the things we also help you find is happiness and peace.

Vision In Sight
People often tell me that they could never
handle going blind. I've said it before, and I
will continue to yell it that
You never know what you can handle until you
face it.
You might just be surprised how the human
spirit takes to the idea of a new challenge. It
may take the body a while to agree. It may
never, but When the hurt, despair, fear, and
hopelessness, hurt bad enough, the heart spark
sometimes ignites. If it does, watch out!
There goes another story of inspiration!
These are people that are so highly revered
for their courage, commitment, and ability to
encourage others that are going through what
they went through. Just know that comes from
people just like you, just like anyone, that if
we hurt bad enough, we have two choices.
Take your life and go home. Wherever home
might be ...
Or, you can just start to believe that it
will be OK, no matter how we worry or not. If we
listen to what our spirit or whatever it is
says, we will be OK. Ask anyone who practices
this. You don't have to believe just me. *smile*
