LAWS AND ADVOCACY
LAWS AND ADVOCACY
there are many laws and also advocacy groups that will help the visually impaired to make sure these laws are enforced.
Although, much less common today, the blind can sometimes be discriminated against in terms of our rights to equal accessibility.
One of the most important laws concerning these issues was passed on June 29, 1990, and was named the American Disabilities Act, :

The major player in making this law come about was a man named Justin Dart
Paul Edwards writes:
Below I am copying an article Justin Dart wrote in 1990 when the ADA was signed. Justin is dead now. He used a wheelchair and was a tireless advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. What he says is well worth reading and remembering and, hopefully, his words will inspire us to go forth and make the law work.
