PlaceMarkers PlaceMarkers You can set one temporary PlaceMarkers and up to ten permanent PlaceMarkers for a single document on the Internet. To set a temporary PlaceMarker, focus the virtual cursor at the location you would like to place the temporary PlaceMarker and press CTRL-K. After setting your PlaceMarker, move to the next PlaceMarker by pressing K. SHIFT-K will move the focus to the previous PlaceMarker. To move a temporary PlaceMarker, focus at the location you would like to move the PlaceMarker and press CTRL-K to move the temporary PlaceMarker to the new location. Open the PlaceMarker dialog with CTRL-SHIFT-K. The PlaceMarkers you have configured will be listed within a list box. You may navigate the list of PlaceMarkers with the UP AND DOWN ARROW KEY or press the first letter of the PlaceMarker name for which you are searching. On the right side of the dialog are a number of buttons. Each is associated with a shortcut key. These buttons include: List of 5 items • Add (ALT-A) - Add a PlaceMarker at the location of the virtual cursor. • Move To (ALT-M) - Move the focus to the selected PlaceMarker • Change Name (ALT-C) - Change the name of the focused PlaceMarker. When this option is activated, an edit field will be enabled. Type the new name of the PlaceMarker and press ENTER to save the changes. • Remove All (ALT-L) - Remove all of the configured PlaceMarkers. • Cancel (ESCAPE) - Close the dialog without making any changes. list end At the bottom of the dialog are two radio buttons. As you have learned throughout this course, there are a great number of elements on a web page. Everything from graphics to form fields can be accessed by Jaws for Windows. JFW offers you the ability to label these many elements to make them more accessible. To label an element on a web page: List of 4 items • Focus on the element for which you would like to provide a label • Press CTRL-INSERT-TAB • Input the label for the element into the resulting edit field • Press ENTER list end The custom label will remain even when you close and revisit the web page. It is immediately saved and becomes permanent. Custom labels can be used on links, form fields, graphics, and more. Custom labels are managed from within the Run Jaws Manager (INSERT- F2).
