How To Help
If you don’t know how or who to help, visit our Personal Growth page at: Personal Growth at EverythingBlind
And go on your own personal journey to find your gifts and strengths. There are many teachers introduced and you should be able to find something that resonates with you.
You may then be able to better find your true peace and happiness.
What You Can Expect
Each month we will share with you stories, poems, and essays on principles which keep us going and growing as both blind and
visually impaired individuals, but also as able and active individuals.
Send your stories, poems, essays, and lessons about vital principles which you have found to be helpful in your success or failure in
life.
This month’s principle is Self Discipline
Are you still having problems finding that true peace and happiness we all feel we deserve? Where do you think the problem lies. This
is the key in the principle of self discipline.
What I found to be self discipline is the self becoming less selfish and more giving.
This coming about without the need for actual discipline or reward, repercussions or negative consequences.
All on our own, we right our wrongs and make the right choices, time after time, life becomes beautiful in every possible way, and We become happy joyous, and free!
Thus far, we have touched upon the first eight principles taught through a spiritual program of enlightenment and growth.
These were:
To work at mastering in ourselves, the practices of:
* brutal honesty
* the ability to see the solution,
*belief in an eternal source,
* the strength to never allow fear to become the truth,
*building upon the core structure of morality,
* the willingness to be open to all possibility,
* the experience and wisdom of humility,
* the ability to forgive and be forgiven, ...
Well then, next you come to self discipline.
In my practice of this principle I simply make the choice to right my wrongs.
It is also, simply to do the best that I can do .
The next principle will deal with perseverance.
perseverance is important in correcting oneself when we have not observed the number one principle of brutal honesty in the rest of the principles.
Making right what we have noticed in ourselves to have been wrong. Then learning and not be so ready to continue doing it again.
Read on next month to find our final principle of perseverance or purpose.
Write next month's topic of perseverance and tell us of your greatest achievement of perseverance.
Life giving you what you really want ... could it be to be happy joyous and free?
Yes, I think that's what we are all meant to have. If we just had the self discipline to do the next right thing.
I am still begging for input from you, the readers, to add to what I am presenting.
This month has no winner,
as, again, there were no relevant submissions. I have, therefore, chosen one of my favorite teachers to share with you how to better understand this principle of self-discipline
Our understanding of this principle can be helped along with the teachings of Caroline Myss. She is one of my personal favorites.
Chakra Three - Honor One's Self
Essential energy of Chakra - Personal Power. We must mature in our self-understanding - the relationship we have with ourselves and how we stand on our own and take care of ourselves.
- Fears
Rejection, criticism, failing to meet responsibilities; diminished physical appearance; uncovering of our “secrets.”
- Strengths >
Self-esteem, self-discipline, ambition, ability to handle a crisis, courage to take risks, generosity, ethics, strength of character.
- Physical Dysfunctions
Arthritis, gastric or duodenal ulcers, diabetes, indigestion, anorexia or bulimia, liver dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction.
To learn more about what she has to say about the rest of these Chakras, visit:
Understanding Your Sacred Truths with Carolyn Myss
It is always wise to consider others views and beliefs and be willing to maybe change some of our own views, if we find others’ views,
at least, possible?
author unknown
Trusting Yourself
The one thing I know about my source is that I can not possibly really understand it. I simply have to trust in what I have experienced
and in the results it has given me.
For me to honestly even begin to practice self discipline, I had to ask myself honestly and brutally, what the right thing was.
I had to humble myself to understand that I was no better than any other human being on this earth.
In trying to spread my message of the truth, if I was affecting another in any kind of negative way, I was to try to share what I see as the truth in a different way or not at all.
I had to make amends to anyone I had harmed, wherever possible.
Every person will get his own messages in his own way and decide what is right or wrong for him.
Then he’ll move onward to possibly see the truth. smile
Ten Principles
There are 10 common and basic principles which can be studied one by one and our understanding of them will change as we
progress toward an awakening in our spirit. This most often happens automatically once the principles are rightly understood for what
they are.
The 10 principles which I have learned about and still learn about every day, are as follows:
1 honesty
2 hope
3 faith
4 courage
5 integrity
6 willingness
7 humility
8 brotherly love
9 self discipline
10 perseverance.
These principles may differ slightly from program to program throughout the world, be it a Native American 12-step program,
Christian, Narcotics Anonymous, Overeaters anonymous, Sex addicts Anonymous, and etc. but basically, if you can find 10 principles that
fit what you need, you will inevitably progress to a higher understanding about your life and find why you might be missing out on the joy
and wonder of the world, blind or sighted.
Please contribute
Please contribute what you can in teaching and helping others with your example.
Instructions are found below to submit your stories about some of these principles in life.
The Rewards
Once these principles are learned and begun to be practiced, daily, the 11th and 12th, those being conscious contact with a higher
power and then love and service, just magically appear. The simple acts of kindness spontaneously start to happen, on both sides of the
card. Suddenly, people reach out with love and acceptance and even if they occasionally, don't, we still find love for those souls who
have not yet begun to find it. Our understanding of others grows and our feelings of continuous hope and love shine forth from our
hearts. Before we know it, we are people whom even ourselves love, unconditionally.
The Ninth Principle
This month I have shared some of my own insight about the ninth principle of Self Discipline with which we can learn a new way to think about who we are and how to better ourselves.
If we understand the principle of honesty and that being 100% honest *all* of the time is essential to our best interest, well, we must admit that learning self discipline is easy.
It's a simple choice you get to make whether to continue doing something you know to be even the slightest little bit, wrong, or to try harder next time.
How willing are you to do whatever it takes to achieve what you want?
Everyone has there own path, remember…
If we become inspired by a higher purpose, it becomes so much easier.
A simple choice.
Surrender and give it a try.
Surrendering takes a will to persevere in any instance. To persevere to keep on doing the next right thing. .
Tune in next month for some insightful ways to learn how to persevere with ease.
Insight On Perception
If we went by what our eyes could see Well, often the truth would be eluding us.
For those without eyes, it's how you perceive things ...
“. We can learn how we are blinded by deceptions of our mind.
The following was written by Cindy Weir. It can be viewed at: The Twelve Principles of Alcoholics Anonymous: GoArticles.com
The Twelve Principles of Alcoholics Anonymous
There are principles which correspond to each of the 12 Steps of {any 12 step program}.
Part of Step 12 is that we "practice these principles in all our affairs".
So, it's important to know what they are! This is an effort to expand on the meaning of the Principles of the 12 Steps. These are the principles
that are incorporated into our daily lives as 'we walk the walk'. Employing each of these behaviors will help to rebuild a life of increased self-esteem,
self-confidence and recovery. Here are the action principles behind the Twelve Steps:
…
… 9. Discipline - We are continuing to remove the barriers that can block forward sober growth. We are getting ready to sweep our side of the street clean.
We are learning to become accountable while making amends to those people we have harmed. We are practicing new behaviors by facing our wrongs, so it is
important to have this self discipline. We are trying to try to correct our wrongs through action, not just words.

Meeting Goals
Most days I wake up feeling graciously bountiful and then I keep picturing where I'm to be in the whole vision of my life, and the next
thing falls into place. Right in my lap.
When I lose sight of what I must do to keep those things, they begin to slip away.
It has been a very powerful and extremely wonderful experience, thus far.
Make up your mind how much of your sorrow and worry and bad luck is of your own choice.
How willing are you to do anything it takes to achieve your goals and dreams? Then decide what you can do to make it happen by
changing what you have been doing that doesn't work.
If you need help, find it. It's all around. just look at the truth.

Submit Your Literary Work To Connections!
Do you write poetry? How about short stories or articles on varying subjects of general interest? Do Do you travel to out of the way
places? Do you enjoy writing jokes and humorous pieces? Many small publishers cannot pay large sums of money, and some do not pay
at all, but this doesn't make them less useful to begin building up your portfolio of published works. When the time comes to submit your
piece for paid publication, you'll have lots of clips from various publications to present to editors.
Connections is one of those small non paying publications at the moment. The copyright remains your own, so you can publish any of
your works elsewhere. I am especially interested in blind and visually impaired writers, but not exclusively. I hope to hear from
you soon.
